Silent Night

Their voice is not heard it is a silent night People gather around to pray because it is the only thing that feels right All is not calm, shock silences them All is not bright they are in the dark holding hands with friends Around the home a mother is now without her child A father cries remembering their child’s sweet smile For their child now sleeps in Heavenly peace up above Only memories are left, wrapped in our love Police shake their heads at the sight Innocent children dying, this just isn’t right Tears stream down faces from near and far When will these teenage deaths end, it is so bizarre A teenager runs home to hug their mama They cry, they don’t understand, there is too much drama Innocent on the day they were born Now so young they are gone, and we are left behind to mourn Yes, it is a silent night Too young, too soon, it is just not right What were they thinking when they took their own life We wish we could have stopped them, now the pain cuts like a knife With salty tears streaming down our face We all need his redeeming grace Jesus, they know not what they do, so gather them close never to part Help us all here to heal from this pain in our heart. My Last Valentine
I searched so long to find love and much to my surprise
You were right beside me and then I realized
I had finally found what I was looking for
The soul mate of my dreams someone to love for ever more
Every day we spent together all our dreams were coming true at last
But we did not expect the car that was coming way to fast
The screeching tires, the broken glass, and I heard you say hold on
The next thing I remembered, something bad had gone wrong
As the night closes in I am sitting by your side
Please don’t leave me; I don’t want you to die
Holding my hand you tell me you will always be near
Pointing to my heart you say your love will always be inside of here

Then you whisper…..For I know there will be another time, another place
I’ll keep searching until I see your beautiful face
For you will always be my love for all of time
Forever only you and me, you are my last valentine

A tear slides down my face my feelings I can’t hide
You can’t change what the heart feels deep down inside
That last day my love for you was put to the test
As I softly kissed your lips as you took your last breath
Then I softly say to you as you close your eyes
Please wait for me when you cross over to the other side
Now sitting here remembering all of our yesterdays
Until tomorrow comes I will not be afraid

Christmas 2011

Thoughts about Christmas and the Holiday Season

Christmas is coming and the geese are getting fat
Don’t be like them, just eat a little of this or that
Exercise is always the best thing to do
Dancing, running, and maybe a little walking too

But, most important above all the rest
Is to enjoy your time off, can you pass this test
Prop up your feet and maybe read a good book
Shop for extreme left over bargains, maybe try a new look

Sleep in later if you stay up past twelve
Because everyone knows the work being done by the elves
Visit the family or a friend or two
Go out to lunch when the big cooking is through

So much to do before Christmas and other holidays are here
After it’s over relax, you deserve it my dear
As for the men we know how you love putting together the toys
For it’s a known fact that you will always play like little boys

As for this special Christmas season
Remember to celebrate for the real reason
A baby that was born so long ago
Placed in a manager while the animals laid low

The wise men came from a far
And shepherds followed a shining star
Angels sang from Heaven above
The world would soon learn how much we are loved

Somewhere in the darkness of night
A family will come together, and candles they will light
Remembering and celebrating with love, this holiday season
The world unites together for whatever their reason

Not just this blessed season, but each and every day
Say a prayer for those in service who can’t be home, keep them safe while they are away
Pray for our country, may things soon take on a fresh new start
Give to the unfortunates, love from your heart




As the celebrating of the season and vacation time will soon come to an end
How time will fly by, and we will be working once again
And we can be thankful we have a job to come back to
No matter how hard the work, it’s a blessing for me and for you

Make holiday memories with good times together, share the laughter, and have some fun
May this New Year bring to each of us, peace on earth and good will towards everyone
